    Default new from Tennessee!

hello my names matt and I just wanted to post an intro, so here it goes.

I found this site while searching for info on the personal training field. Im 25 Y/o and in college right now for Exercise Science concentraiting in physical eduacation. Im only in my second year right now though. I was planning on going into teaching but would much rather look into the fitness training field becuase I like the idea of having the chance to work for myself in the future and also it seems like a much more exciting field than than trying to get a group of high school kids to play ultimate frisbee haha.

but anyways I plan on hopefully getting certified by this time next year and maybe doing some part time work at a gym to get the hang of things while I finish up school (always good to have a backup plan). then after school getting into it full time. I think the very first step is to get myself into better shape and hopefully Ill get some good info on that here also. I definately need to quit smoking and see about getting into some nutrition classes (so i can better my own personal life, and it wont hurt to have some nutrition knowledge for clients.) If you want to know anything else, just ask. and i look forward tto getting some more great info

    Matt...

DO IT! I'm 26, almost the same age as you. I've been working for myself for about 5 or so years now as a full-time personal trainer. I own and run the biggest in-home and on-site personal training company in the Upstate of South Carolina and it's the best thing I ever did for myself. The hours are long, the commitment is huge, and the rewards are great! Do it, if it's truly what you love. If you really have a passion for fitness, you won't regret it one single moment.
Yeah, I'm using my sig for anchor text. At least I'm up front about it

Thanks for encouragement. I realy cant wait untill I can get into it. I have been doing A lot of research and reading about the PT field, different certs and such. I just have to wait untill I can get all the study materials and start getting ready for the test.I plan on starting that as soon as this semester is over and then hopefully being ready for the test by the start of the Fall semester. that will give me almost 4 months of study time. and Im learning some of it already in school so that should help also.
