Hi Sam and welcome to the forum! I have absolutely no idea what qualifications/certifications are required of trainers in the UK or Australia. I am jealous, however, that you may be moving to Australia.

Hi guys,
My name is Sam and I'm 24 from the UK. I graduated from uni with a degree in accounting and finance and worked for 2 years after in an accountancy firm before realising that sitting behind a desk was not something I wanted to do for the rest of my life! I took 6 months off to travel around the world, hoping to come back and start a new chapter in my life.
I have been looking into becoming a personal trainer as I am at my happiest being active, leading a healthy lifestyle and meeting and talking to new people. I was researching the web for qualifications, and found that the YMCA course was held in high regard in the UK.
Do any of you know if it is a recognised qualification internationally, especially in Australia, as I am looking to move there?
Thanks for your help and I look forward to contributing further to this forum.
Sam.
