    Default Career Changing!

    Hi Guys,

As I am new to this forum I thought I would get things going with a thread to inspire and motivate all of us.

After all my years as a Personal Trainer I love the fact that our industry continues to challenge me year in year out. Every time I meet a new Trainer or attend a lecture I learn something new.

I just wanted to put out the question I always love to hear the answer to:

What has inspired you or excited you so far during 2010?!

2010 has proven to me that 'becoming the product of your own programme' can completely change, not only the way clients respond to you but completely changes your outlook on things. I made a serious effort last year to get as healthy as possibly using a very holistic approach. I sorted out my training, nutrition, sleep patterns, stress levels, toxic load, hydration etc and the results I achieved were amazing. As a result I suddenly became so confident about my own programme (in a nice way) that others around me started to also get better results; both clients and my team!!! I trully believe I have become a better Trainer for it and feel better now than I did in my early 20's!

I would love to hear what has inspired you so far in 2010! Your messages will help to inspire and motivate the entire community!!

In advance thank you for posting.

    Yours in health,

    Matt

If you don't mind me answering, I think that what inspires me this year is the same idea that inspires me every year. The will to grow bigger, stronger, wiser, and achieve more than I ever have in years past. I want to help even more people achieve a better quality of life through wellness, fitness, and nutrition.

Yeah, I'm using my sig for anchor text. At least I'm up front about it

    Don't hang!
I'm thrilled because I got certified this year, and am actually quitting my job in three months and moving back to my hometown after 21 years away to be a trainer full time. I am a late bloomer - didn't start healthy habits until my early 30s, and didn't decide to get certified until I was 41.

I am grateful that I have the opportunity to leave an accidental career and hurl myself and my enthusiasm into the world full steam doing something that I truly love to do. It is a true career change and a life change for me - I'm taking a dare I didn't have the guts to take when I was younger. I'm a solo and am looking forward to challenging myself to be the best trainer I can be, AND the best ambassador for living healthily. I also look forward to testing my latent business acumen - can I make a living doing this in what is essentially a new town? I say yes, and I say bring on the hard work to get there. I've got more energy and passion now than I ever had.

I look forward to professional development - I'm always looking for new information, new workouts, new exercises, new scientific studies relating to exercise and nutrition that I can share with clients and with friends. The more I know the more I want to know, and I don't see that changing. Forums like this are wonderful resources for learning new ideas, cautions, etc. and I look forward to gleening stray wisdom other trainers leave scattered about.

I'm excited to bring to my clients the knowledge that fitness can happen at any age, very excited to help them get there and am unabashedly pollyanna about it.

    Hi kit1811,

Thank you for the inspiration! I have been a gymnastics instructor for the past 17 years, have a wife and kids to take care of and i am in the process of selecting a good certification to guide me to my new career. I have been weary about leaving what i "know" and diving head first into the PT world until i read your post. Thanks again for the Inspiration and i hope you create every success you desire.

    Wink

OMG I wrote a short story and deleted it.

Probably for the best... let's make things simple:

My 2010 (and always) inspiration - "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am doing today?"

Make the answer to that question "YES".
