    Default Hey... from Ohio

Hello everyone. Glad to be here.

I hope to learn from you all about the personal trainers' world. Who knows, maybe you can learn from me, also. I'm a business consultant who sits a lot at the computer.

I look forward to reading your articles, discussions and more. This looks like a nice website. I will also tell others about this forum.

    Until later...

    Welcome Aboard Worldtraveller.

R U a certified personal trainer as well or involved in fitness?

Looking forward to your input, either way.

Thanks Dave. Glad to be here.

I'm not involved in the fitness other than trying to become more motivated as a participant. I enjoy bike riding but finding time is limited.

I'm real happy I found this forum because I see in which ways some of the info I've read or heard over the years about health and fitness may have been skewed.

It's nice to read here information from the personal trainer's and the other professionals in this forum's viewpoint without the marketing hype I find in sales materials (print, TV, etc.). I really like the discussion of some articles that have been published where the forum participants have really strong pros and cons about whether the article was crappola or whether it had some validity to it if viewed from a different perspective.

But, besides trying to find ways to become more motivated personally and hoping to find the 'it' or the arm-twister through reading the discussions here, I am working on a cardio workout web project which requires me to learn more about the industry and find a few best ways to attract new clients to personal trainers and get others like me to become more involved with daily fitness versus the occasional fitness activities. I'm looking for that 'magic formula' if there is such an animal.

The hurdle for most is actually the 'doing' although we all know what should be done from a logic standpoint. How to make it fun and not more work is the real challenge, especially when most people are usually too tired at the end of the day and not having that time in the morning unless sleep is sacrified; the double-edged sword. This is what my project is trying to find answers to.

Most know about the finding the 'buddy' to workout with or the 'it will make you feel better' and some of that which was written in a post I believe was by Christina (?), which was very good I might add, but how to find the motivation piece that still eludes those who still won't try it otherwise? That's what my project is about. Lucky for me, I really do like physical activity in general but not necessarily the "let's go to the gym and workout" type. I'm more of an outdoors type physical activities person.

So in a nutshell, that's why I'm here. I will keep reading here and maybe I'll find that 'magic formula'. Maybe if Christina or whoever wrote that post describing I believe were six (6) ways to get folks motivated, that they publish on their website or elsewhere on the Web so I may possibly add a link to it on my website. I believe many people will benefit from it. It was well done. I'll try to find that post again in the future when I have more time.

    Thanks again, Dave.
