This article by Dan John explains how Tabatas are done.

It is a brutal workout even though the weights being used are light.

Tabata is probably the best anaerobic protocol going around..
It stresses on all out power for 20 secs and rest for 10 secs(8 intervals as you'd know)..
So you can use it for basic calisthenics or running, rowing, cycling and even swimming if possible.. I use it mainly for running, jump-rope, push-ups, squats, sit-ups, burpees and box jumping.. The beauty of the Tabata Interval is that you can apply it to any task and you will reap the benefits.. at the risk of being extremely winded!!
Thoroughly enjoyable and makes for an exciting group workout/challenge..
Cheers,
Abbi

Tabata is one of my favorite routines for my clients and myself.

I use Tabata Pushups, squats, burpess, medicine ball slams, punches etc.

Your client needs to be willing to go as hard as they can, if not..it will feel "easy"
