Disregard previous post (Essentials of Strength and Conditioning). Question has been revised to:

Does anyone recommend 'Nsca's Essentials of Personal Training' as a resourceful guide for the NSCA CPT exam? If so, is there any other source suggested for the exam (other than the practice exams).

Yes the "Essentials" text book should be purchased as it's a great guide, not only for exam content, but for information to use while you are a personal trainer.

That Book, The Practice Exams, and some of the websites that Christina has listed that deal with Anatomy and Kinesiology would be all you really need.
