    Default NSCA Exam

I have been studying for the NSCA certification for quite some time now. I am having difficulties retaining much of the information. So far I have been able to pass the Practice Exam 1 and now I'm on to the Practice Exam 2. Didn't do well with the 2nd exam. Ugh! What is the best strategy to study for the NSCA exam? I would really like to aim for my certification at the end of this month and could use as many tips as I can possibly get.

    The materials I have is:

    NSCA's Essentials of Personal Training
    NSCA - CPT Practice Exams 1,2, & 3

    Any other suggested materials?

Nope - just study the book. I'd really key in on those chapters in the middle (risk factors) and also the nutrition chapter. Most of my test were scenario questions, but they were pretty much common sense and much of the info that they provided was not necessary to answer the question. It was given just to completely throw you off.

I didn't have a single question on spinal cord injuries...honestly, of the special populations, I'd make sure you know about pregnancy and then just make sure you've read the other chapters...I wouldn't stress over them. At most, you'll probably only see a question if that.

Be sure that you read the facilities and legal chapters. Don't stress on all of the formulas and stuff though. Of course, know what negligence is and stuff like that.

As for the practice exams - those are helpful, but there are way more scenario questions on the exam than basic questions. But, a lot of the scenario questions are extremely long-winded and most of the info that they provide is useless and unnecessary to answer the question. So, just use common sense.
