    Default Need Help with NSCA Practice Exam Scenario

    Having problems with one of the Scenario questions. It is as follow:

    A 33-year old, 5'1" (155-cm) woman has been working with a personal trainer for six months. During that time, the client's primary modes of exercise have been walking and jogging in an effort to lower her percentage of body fat. Her initial and most recent body composition tests revealed these results:

    January 1
    Body weight: 130 pounds (59 kg)
    Body fat: 30%

    June 30
    Body weight: 124 pounds (56 kg)
    Body fat: 25%

    Question: Approximately how much body fat has this client lost since her first body composition evaluation?

    A. 8 pounds (4 kg)
    B. 6 pounds (3 kg)
    C. 5 pounds (2 kg)
    D. 2 pounds (1 kg)

    Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

    Take both bodyweights and multiply by their corresponding Body fat %, then subtract the body fat %'s you get

    Should be
    130x.30= 39lbs of fat
    then
    124x.25= 31lbs of fat

    39-31 = 8lbs or ~ 4kg
