Default How Much Does It Cost To Maintain a CSCS certification?

I was happy to learn that to maintain your certification through ACSM as a Certified Personal Trainer the cost is very reasonable since it appears that all of the required CEUs or CECs can be obtained by submitting answers to questions that ACSM sends to you in their quarterly newsletter.

My question is for anyone who is CSCS certified through NSCA. Their requirements seem a bit more complicated when it comes to maintaining a CSCS certification, and I am concerned that the cost will be far too much than it's worth.

How much does it really cost to maintain a CSCS certification?

    Default RE: CSCS cert

It really depends on how you want to get your CEU's, but I would not say more than $300-600. Ive been CSCS certified for 8+ years and it has been one of the most valuable certs I have. I also have liability insurance through them which is very reasonable. Definitely worth it!

    New Leaf,

The downside to just getting your CEU's through newsletters is it really limits your professional growth, in comparison to attending at least a FEW seminars through the year/years. It also limits your professional growth because you are not out there meeting other professionals, learning and sharing with peers.

If I recall, there are also CEU opportunities in NSCA's publication, also.
