    I assume it is 20%.

Convert pounds to kg: 132/2.2= 60kg

Recommended protein for athletes is 1.5 - 2.0 grams per kg. (I am assuming they want you to use 2 grams per kg)

    60kg x 2.0 grams = 120 grams

    2400 kcal/120 grams = 20 or 20%

You can check your work because 120 grams of protein is 480 calories (remember, there are 4 kcal per gram of protein) So...

    20% of 2400 kcal is 480 or 2400 x .20 = 480

In general terms, one's diet should consist of 65% carbs, 25% fat, and 15% protein. Perhaps that is where they got it. (?)

If anyone else can help please chime in.

I'd say that it's a trick question. The 132 lbs and 2400 kcals are irrelevant.

    Default AZtrainerman

Use 1.5 grams per kg of body weight you get 15%
132 lbs converted to kg =60 times 1.5 grams per =90 grams at 4cal per gram =360 divide by 2400 cal=.15
    or 15%
min requirements protein = .8grams/kg body weight
athlete or training = 1.5-2 grams/kg body weight

    AZTrainerman:

    Good analysis.

However, you don't know if he's an athlete according to the question that is posted. Therefore, you can't assume that the intake should be 1.5g/kg of BW.

So, that's why I think that the question is meant to trick you and the values provided are irrelevant.

    Cool

True, there seems to be some information missing.
I suspect the question may not be presented accurately as indicated.
I do not recall trick questions on the exam material.
There were as I recall questions on percentages, but the information needed was provided.
