    Default CPT CERT

Just recently sat for and passed the NSCA-CPT exam.
I was a student at NPTI (National Personal Training Institute).
It was a 6 month 500 hour program. Those of you who are looking for knowledge and not just to pass an exam may want to consider it.
There was classroom lecture as well as a practical gym time component.

The NSCA-CPT is the first to be accredited by the NCCA and in my opinion is the best cert out there! The more people who become certified by this organization the better off the personal training field will be.
Of course most of you on this forum already know that.

Good luck to all who are studying for the exam!

I agree NPTI is a very good cert. Its very expensive if I remember but students do come out of the program with a much better grasp of things than most trainers. I believe they use the NSCA book as well

Yes Joe the course is not cheap.
It was around 6000.00 dollars for the 6 month course.
We did use an NSCA text it was Essentials of Strength and Conditioning.
Also we had and anatomy and nutrition text as well.
One of the things that I found very valuable was actually working in the gym to gain hands on experience as a trainer.

    Hi John
yes that's definitely an advantage of NPTI. the NPTI trainers Ive seen were all very smart. investing $6,000 also says a lot about the dedication of the person as well.
