Hi Maureen, don't waste your time on the NSCA symposium cds. I didn't find them helpful in the slightest. Someone else may have a different opinion though.
Make sure you buy the practice exam(s)!

Hi! My name is Maureen and for the past few months, I have been researching and inquiring info on the various PT certifications. Eventhough, I am a bit perplexed on which direction to take, my gut intuitions are leaning towards the NSCA CPT certification. Can anyone provide counsel on the best materials to study for the exam? The NSCA site has many packages to purchase and are somewhat costly. Preferably, I would first like to see if any of the materials are available through a local library or perhaps available for sale on Amazon.com.
I am really excited about my decision to transition into the Health and Fitness field, but right now I am grasping for straws and really need advice on the path in which to take.
