Ive spent several months preparing to take the NSCA CPT exam...over the last few weeks studying has been at an all time low for me. And now I cant seem to focus long enough to study at any decent length.
I want to take the exam and have a few hang ups preventing me:
1. cash to pay for the exam
2. confidence in knowing im thoroughly prepared
What do I do to get my butt in gear to study while I come up with the money? Im so afraid Im going to take this test, get certified and then be no good at it? Is this all pretty normal?
Im not even sure I want to do "personal training". Im thinking I more so want to run a boot camp type program and write books...
Help, I need it desperately...

If you have a question about personal training please post it on the forum instead of sending me an email or private message. Chances are your questions will help someone else. Thanks!
Jackson, even if you only want to run bootcamps or write e-books/articles, the more "qualifications" or "Credentials" you have the better. So I would continue down the path of certification.
The NSCA sit down exam was yesterday, so your options now are to wait another 3 months to take it, or take it electronically at one of the computer testing centers.
I'm sure the knowledge that you have gained by studying will help you in whatever you decide, but feel that all that studying would be for nothing if you didn't try for certification.
Keep studying and take the exam already!![]()

these are normal feelings. if you are passionate about fitness, you will be fine. nobody knows everything and everybody starts somewhere. sure you will make some mistakes but as I tell people, if your first rule of thumb is "do no harm" you will be fine. learn all you can, go slow take it one day at time and you will be fine. your first step is to the the materials and practice test. Dont be afraid. you will be fine. trust me.
