Default Taking classes in college to prep for PT TEST ?

    Hello,
I am finishing up my Personal Training Certification and I would like to know more about Kinesiology/Biomechanical and Physiology. My interests leans more towards strength training and I was wondering if anyone is taking non-BA classes at local colleges (classes to better ones self) and if they could pass on some information regarding AMSC, NSCA, or NASC classes.

    Hi Masumi,

Welcome to the forum! Sorry for the delayed response. I think the forum has been dead due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

I took classes through UCLA. You can take anatomy, physiology, and several nutrition courses online. (The rest have to be in person.) Here is the link:

Many colleges will let you sit in on classes for no credit but the policy varies from one school to the next. Find a school you are interested in and inquire about their policy regarding this.

Which certification are you studying for?

    ACSM-CPT, NSCA-CPT

If you have a question about personal training please post it on the forum instead of sending me an email or private message. Chances are your questions will help someone else. Thanks!

    Default Hi, Christina

Thank you for advice! sorry for delay. finally I took test for NAFTA-PT today
and I learned a lot of good basic stuff. (don't know if I past written test yet. but sure past practical test tonight!)
well my main goal is the NSCA-CPT but I don't have any knowledge in exercises- sciences so something to start little by little and now I'm more interested to learn depth in exercise.
I bought NSCA-CPT text set from some one locally (great price) so now I'm ready to open the text and start study!
I know I'm really weak on Anatomy- physiology part that's why wondered if I can go school for learn more in class room style.
I will check the community colleges around here and see what happen.
it will take long long time before take test for me but no rush.
well thank you for information and I'll be back again!
