No. In order to sit for the NSCA-CPT you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be 18 years of age, and hold a current AED and CPR certification.

Where can I take the NSCA Personal Trainer Certification exam?
The NSCA-CPT exam is offered at AMP Assessment Centers across the United States. The exam is also offered in paper/pencil format on various dates throughout the year.

How many questions are on the NSCA-CPT exam?
There are 140 multiple choice questions, 35 of which correspond with video segments.

What is the pass rate for the NSCA-CPT exam?
The minimum for passing is a scaled score of 70.

How much does the exam cost?
The computer based exam costs $285 for members, $405 for nonmembers. The paper/pencil format costs $270 for members and $390 for nonmembers. (Discounts are given for early registration.)
