This is my dilemma (although I'm not sure it's a bad thing). I took the WITS class earlier this year and passed both tests (written and practical) but I have not done the internship yet so I am not certified. Some people I work with (I don't work in fitness) know I took the class and are asking me to help them develop an exercise program. I would like to help and I think it would be a good experience, but since I am not officially certified yet, is it okay for me to be doing this?

Thanks for the reply. The only reason I haven't done the internship is because I travel a lot for my job and was away for long stretches of time during the summer, so I just didn't have the time. Things usually calm down for me later in the year so I hope to complete it by the end of the year.

I will look into insurance right away. I remember WITS recommended a few companies so I will contact them. Thanks

Pookie,

Personal training isn't like other professions at this point, where certification or registration is required.

However, I also recommend you get insurance asap. Also check out hpso.
