Does anyone know anything about leasing gym equipment? I would someday like to open a personal training studio and this seems like a safe option. Has anyone leased equipment or ever considered?

Hi christina,

The fitness center I managed decided to lease the cardio equipment and purchase the weight machines. The strategy behind the thinking there is that cardio equipment gets used more, has more moving parts and probably breaks more. With a lease, depending on the manufacturer, you may get to upgrade your equipment after 2 or 3 years of use when the lease is up.

But like I said, you'll have to check with your manufacturer.

Good Luck!

Dave
