Heya. My name's Joe. I'm 37, used to bodybuild back in my 20's (the days when HMB and creatine monohydrate were considered miracles), gained 50 lbs. a few years ago, took up amateur boxing (USA Boxing Master Division), and have dropped 40 lbs., 30 of it in the first 4 months.

Many people at my boxing gym, and most of my friends & relatives, have asked me how I did it; I tell them, "diet and exercise." They all say, "I could never do that." I tell them, "Sure you could." I'm contemplating studying and sitting for a Fitness Trainer certificate -- not sure which one, yet -- and going into fitness training. I wouldn't quit my day job but would probably go to part time.

I'll try to use the Search function as much as possible before asking any noob questions.

EDIT: Here's a before & after pic, the first 6 months of boxing, running, and eating right. From 200 to 170 lbs. No supplements other than vitamins and whey protein.

I walk around at 170-175 and fight at 165. Here's me at fighting weight (after a bout; the only pic I have of me that cut so far:)

My goal by Jan 1 '09 is to make 160 walking around and have at least one personal training certificate.
