    Default NPTI

I have been doing some research on the National Personal Training Institute, and I am still unsure of whether or not it would be a good choice. Some have heard of it and highly recommend it, and others don't know what it is. I am planning to attend a school such as NPTI, and then going to get a certification such as ACE. So can anybody tell me what the deal is with this place?

    Thanks!

    Default Great School!

I love this school, I would recommend it to anyone interested in the health and fitness field. It is very in depth and very informative. It is a 6 month course that goes into everything from personal training for regular people to special populations such as spinal injuries.

i am currently enrolled in the orlando residential program for NPTI. im only about 3 weeks into it but so far it has been great. the instructors are very knowledgable and i look forward to class everyday. money well spent and i highly recommend this school.

they also have a massage therapy school and will give you half off the tuition if you take both courses.

    Default NPTI

NPTI is only a diploma program, it is NOT a Certification. Lots of facilities will not accept it, do not waste your time and money, it costs $6300 !

In addition, they are not even accredited by the NOCA.

Go for something more respectable like NSCA. The are some schools that teach the NSCA material. Check out schools in NY, AZ and TX.

I have a friend whose daughter went to NPTI. She loved it. She also got her pt certification through ACSM so if you are going to go this route be sure to get certified through one of the more popular organizations such as ACSM, NSCA, NASM, or ACE.

If you have a question about personal training please post it on the forum instead of sending me an email or private message. Chances are your questions will help someone else. Thanks!

    Thanks for the opinions!
I was planning on getting a cert. after finishing NPTI as well. I realized there was pretty much no way I'd get a decent job with just a NPTI diploma :x
