I've been doing Pilates for years now and decided to try something new. The Reformer is a large piece of equipment that Joseph Pilates used himself and I wanted to try it. So I took a private lesson at a facility 45 min away and I liked it. Now the problem is that this particular certification is very expensive and over a period of 9 months, because of time put in during the weekends and apprentice hours.
I also found out that while taking this private lesson that the regular MAT Pilates that I am certified in is more accurate , in depth and personalized to Pilates than where I had been taking it.
I now will be starting over with my certification with the MAT only and later thinking about the Reformer later on. I am frustrated with the fact that the organization that I have been certified in was not reputable enough in "Pilates" but they are in other areas.
Now I will be taking classes... studying more and getting certified in the proper form.
Anyone else have this problem with a cert that was taken and knowing you could have received better knowledge somewhere else?
