Is there an additional certification or qualifications for working with children? What kind of job opportunities are out there for this kind of work?

This is an area I am interested in as well, and I think that there are many directions fitness for children can be geared toward. I have found Crossfit has a certification path for training children, and ACE has a free "Operation FIT Kids" program available for download on their website. That program is geared toward school educators and I think you could/would have to highly customize it and develop your own program. IYCA (International Youth Conditioning Association) has certifications on both the fitness and sports ends for kids. Just doing a quick search, AFPA has a Children's Fitness Specialist certification and ISSA has a Youth Fitness Trainer certification.
