Default Is a Bachelors really useful in the personal training world?

    Hi Everyone!

I am new to this forum. I have a bachelors in marketing and a masters in communication. I am currently an instructor for a large dance aerobic franchise and am looking to shift my career in marketing to personal training. My question is this, if I have been exposed to Personal Training (through this aerobic franchise) and have trained approximatey 14 students (be it one on one or in groups) what good will getting another Bachelor's do for me?

I have heard conflicting opinions on this and I am curious what you all think. I do not have a personal training certification as of yet, but I have plenty of experience and plan to work on the certification. Do I really need to go back to school to work in a gym or a training facility? Thanks!

It wont really really help you much unless you aim to go farther in the industry in a management sense. Most of your education will come from reading, coworkers, internet and certifications you take.
Save the money and use it towards some good certifications. your going to need alot of hands only/technique knowledge because dance instruction does not relate to your future clientelles goals for the most part.

    Agreed!

In my personal opinion degrees are just as much about helping you get a foot in the door, as much as they're for acquiring knowledge.

No degree is needed, if you just want to become a personal trainer
