Have any of you ever donated your personal training services to charities or other good causes?

If you have a question about personal training please post it on the forum instead of sending me an email or private message. Chances are your questions will help someone else. Thanks!

It's funny that you mention this.
I was brainstorming with some of my co-workers about how we can "jumpstart" our Personal Training program. At most we are collectively getting about 2 to 3 clients a week between all 4/5 of us. This is expected especially since we just opened in January of this year.
Anyway, my idea was to setup a donation program, where they donate a certain amount (50 dollars or so) to a particular charity, and in return have the opportunity to win a raffle in which the prizes would be Personal Training sessions. This would serve two purposes: 1) Showcase our abilities. and 2) Donate to a good cause.
What do you think? Potential? I'm still writing up the details before I hand it in to the boss.
Hi Arami,
I think it's an awesome idea. Fostering good will, doing something good for the community and raising awareness for yourself as a trainer -- what could be bad? I was going to say in my earlier post that I would actually like to do more of this. As part of my business, I'd like to eventually set up some kind of outreach program. I think it's vital that we as trainers have a good presence in our communities. Good health, fitness and wellness can't be overemphasized or overcommunicated enough.
Let us know how it works out! Good luck!
