Default Best availability for Part-time PT

    Hello all!

I am new to the industry, and currently studying for my ACSM-CPT. When I start my job search, I will be looking for part-time employment at first, until I feel secure with my new career.

My question is; what are the ideal hours of availability for a part-time trainer... mornings? ... nights and weekends?

I am interested in advancing quickly, and want to be a full-time trainer within 6 months; I want to offer the ideal schedule that will allow me to build a clientele quickly, and move up in this career, however I will have to have a second form of income at first, as security for my family.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

It really depends on the type of facility you are working at, and who you like to work with when you train. The baby boomers are a great group to target right now, because they can afford trainers, they lack knowledge and lived through an era of fitness myths. I usually get many of them in the morning, and athletes and middle age folks in the evening.
