    Default Help with my Practical

Hi all... I passed my written exam to become a PT a few months ago. I'm doing my practical in a couple more weeks, and I would love to have some thoughts on the exercises I've chosen for my "client". I'll first tell you that I don't plan to work in a gym. I'd like to train people in their homes or in my own. So, when planning my practical, I have chosen exercises that I can do from home opposed to gym type machines.
My "client", is a 51 year old male, who has not worked out in the past and is looking to shed some pounds and trim his waist line. I need to have 6 exercises set up as follows:
    1) Compound, lower body
    2) Single joint, lower body
    3) Compound, upper body (push)
    4) Compound, upper body (pull)
    5) Single joint, upper body (push or pull)
    6) Core (abdominals or low back)

These are what I have chosen so far, but I'm not sure I'm happy with all these exercises. If there are any you don't think I should be doing with my client, please let me know and if you have any suggestions of a different exercise, I would love to hear. Again, keep in mind that I'm not using any machines
    1) Ball Wall Squat
    2) Dumbbell Heel Raise
    3) Bench Tricep Dip
    4) ??
    5) Dumbbell Shoulder Press
    6) Plank

I appreciate any help you can give me!!! Thanks!

If you have a question about personal training please post it on the forum instead of sending me an email or private message. Chances are your questions will help someone else. Thanks!

    1)ok-depending on knees
    2)ok
    3)Standing Band Chest Press
    4)Standing Band Rows
    5)ok
6)Plank/Bird Dog-remember planks are ok if there is no hypertension

    Only 6?!?!

I train out of my clients homes mostly, and I use band training unless they come to my studio. You can do anything with bands that you can think of with machines and more, including velocity specific training. I don't want to be lugging db's everywhere I go, but bands weight next to nothing.
    just food for thought.

Yes, we only have to do 6 exercises for the resistance portion of the practical! Thank you for all of your suggestions... I think I will use them all!
