I'm sorry if I offended you cause it was not my intention and if you re-read my post I said he showed you know respect by how he conducted himself. Sorry, but looks don't say squat about what type of trainer you would make and often those who look good are crappy trainers from my 11 years of experience in this industry and hiring trainers. Second, pt certs are only paper - I would look at degrees above that at least as a starting point, but by no means would determine who I would hire.

What I meant by 2 and possible 3 interviews is hands application. I want to see what you can do. Do you know how to use the equipment? Do you show proper form and education? Can you teach the exercises? Can you even write a good program? There just should have been more to the hiring process and I am sorry I don't see how he knows if you are a good or a crappy trainer. I would want to see what you know and don't know, so I could handle what training you would need before you even set foot on the training floor.

I wish you the best of luck because from what I have heard about Bally's if you are serious about this as a profession you will move on quickly. True everyone needs there break, but the standards we are setting in this industry is an absolute joke.

Hi guys, I wanted to chime in here as well.

I have to say that I agree with Jeff 110%. This is why our industry doesn't get the respect it should. Pookie, a few years ago when I was in WV visiting my parents I took my 19 year old cousin around to apply for jobs. She walked into an Anytime Fitness and asked if they were hiring. (She was looking to work the front desk.) The lady said, "We need personal trainers. Do you know how to use any of this equipment?" My cousin couldn't believe it! When she came out to the car and told me this I hit the roof!

Greeneyes, I have to disagree with you about looks. In my opinion, every woman should want to be hired based on her intelligence, not looks. Should trainers be fat? No. But a good looking body doesn't say squat about a trainer's ability. (For the record I am 5'7" and I weigh 127 pounds so this is not coming from someone who is overweight.)

By the way, greeneyes, I want to congratulate you on your new job. I may not agree with how the man who hired you went about it, but I know it means a lot to you.
