I don't necessarily have any accounting info for you, but you may want to check out my whistleblower report, focusing on fitness as a business and marketing - http://www.super-trainer.com/reports
Hi, I recently got my ACE group fitness instructor certification and am going to take my NASM personal trainer test within the next couple of months.
I have several clients I am training already, but I was curious if anyone here could give me some advice on setting up a business.
I'm not sure how I should keep track of my money for tax-filing purposes. Don't businesses have to file taxes more often than regular citizens? Does anyone here have an accountant or do you do your taxes yourself?
Thanks in advance you guys, this forum has some really great information on it.
I'm currently training in the Highlands Ranch are of Colorado. If you live or work near here and would like more information about hiring a personal trainer, please visit my website at:

Tips, News, and Tactics for the Top-Level Personal Trainer
Hey
Depends on the type of business you are starting, LLC, Sole Pro, Partnership, etc. If you're a corp you'll have to estimate taxes and pay quarterly I think, as well as file a lot of other paper work. So it just depends on the business but for the most part taxes shouldn't be that difficult, what is more important is the liability side.
I'm a CPA but do not do work on the tax end, so I'd research the topic and most business books give you descriptions of each business type.
Hope this helps some, thanks.
