Hey everyone!
I like to use my Omron scale for body comps. because it is faster, easier and less "invasive" than the calipers. However, I'm encountering some inconsistancies. For example, I have a client that lost 6 lbs. You can look at her and tell she's lost bodyfat and I know she's gained muscle because her strength has improved so mush. The scale said her bodyfat had gone up a percent when I did her body comps. yesterday. I know that isn't correct! As the trainer, I mean, what do you say?! I'm going to re-do that part next week and see how it does, but still.... Has anyone else experienced this with the Omron scales? :?

Yes, as John said, fluid balance, among other things, can really tweak results with any BIA measuring device.
The downside to calipers is technician error. However, once you've done ~100 measurements, the chance of error decreases.
