Default Amount of calories used for different body types

Hi all. Great forum here. I'm a newbie so please forgive me for my lack of knowledge.

Ok, if person 1 is more of an ectomorph with a faster metabolism then would person 1 burn more calories doing the same physical activity (same intensity, duration, etc.) as person 2 who is more of an endomorph with a slower metabolism?

    OR

Would both burn the same amount of calories doing the same thing even though their metabolism rate are different.

    Thanks

    Default Great Question!

From what I've read, typically the larger your body is (Endomorph, Mesomorph) the more calories you burn during the activity.

For example if you are on an elliptical and you enter your weight as 225, the calorie burn read out would say that you've burned more calories than someone who entered their weight at 160 and did the same program at the same level for the same amount of time.

An Ectomorphs metabolism is fast so they burn more calories when sitting still/at rest, but I am not 100% certain that that carries over into training.

I found this article on different body types, while it is helpful in differentiated those, it's not very helpful with your initial questions.

    Hope this helped,
