If you have a question about personal training please post it on the forum instead of sending me an email or private message. Chances are your questions will help someone else. Thanks!
Articles like this are so annoying. It paints the industry as a bunch of charletans (SP?) like we are out to take peoples money without a caring thought.
I wonder how much ACSM paid Smart Money for that third recommendation. Please there are just as many UnEthical ACSM personal trainers than there are personal trainers that are certified by other agencies.
You know, a lot of us didn't realize that Fitness was our first love so didn't go to college and get a "Formal" degree in exercise science. That doesn't mean we don't know what we are doing and are out there "just to make a quick buck". :respect:
Most clients don't succeed because they sabotage themselves and refuse to modify their behavior. They need no help from me in that aspect. You're not seeing changes in your body, it's because you are not taking my advice seriously and not modifying your behavior. It's not because I sent you 1 box of chocolates last year. (Not that I have ever done that).![]()
SHEESH.
Okay, I"m off my soap box.
Dave
P.S. I would recommend any trainer who is even SLIGHTLY offended by the story write a "Letter To the Editor" to Smart Money. Those of us who AREN'T ACSM CERTIFIED need to defend ourselves from this bias. (Sorry Joe, Sorry Christina)
