Default Setting up an Exercise room for a Non-Profit

    Hello Collegues,

I received a call this morning from the county satisfaction team in my county and they want to develop an Exercise Room for their "Drop-IN" center. Which I believe are people who are homeless and have psychological issues.

So far, I've got $3000 to convert a 14 ft X 48 ft. (672 Sq ft.) space into an exercise area. The equipment has to be safe and easy to use.

I'm sure it's going to take more money than that for equipment alone, but want to know how I go about approaching Life Fitness, Nautilus, etc about providing discounted equipment for this non-profit.

Has anyone had experience in this area?

    Let me know,

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

    Hey Dave,

I know a Life Fitness rep in Texas who could give you the name of someone in your area to contact. Do you want me to email him and ask him how they handle discounted equipment for non-profits and get the name of a rep in your area?

That would be great Christina. I think after talking to my sister who works a non-profit, that really the only pricing most companies offer is "Without Tax". But I am also looking for equipment donations as well.

    Thanks!!

    Hey Dave,

Most likely the Life Fitness rep you talk to will work for a company that sells all kinds of gym equipment. Try to get your hands on some of their used equipment. People buy stuff all the time and sell it back (for a very reduced price! LOL!). I know this from first hand experience because I sold back some equipment when we moved to California. The items were in brand new condition too. Also, maybe some of those companies that send catalogs out in the mail will donate a few stability balls or bands.

I will send an email today to the guy I know in Texas and CC you on it.
