Okay Mase, I sent you an email at the Nike plus site!
Now I am going to figure out how the challenges work.

I got it. thanks
I feel as if I am not up to date with all this equipment. I gave my daughter an IPOD for her 13th Birthday, and I don't even have one. Now I am looking into the Sport Kit. I would love to have one, but since I instruct alot of classes and train, I don't have much time for myself to work-out and listen to music.
Maybe I should just get one and go to Nike, then I'll be able to keep up with all of you![]()
Good way to just spend money on myselft.
Sandy
Hi Sandy! You should definitely get one! I have music loaded on mine as well as books and comedy. You can also download free shows (called Podcasts) from popular television stations such as the Discovery Channel. I even loaded my NSCA exam prep c.d.s onto my iPod as well!
If you get one make sure it is the Nano model because then you can buy the Nike+ Sport Kit and get involved in challenges. (You may have seen the challenge I posted last night to forum members.) I think we paid $199 for my Nano and the Nike+ Sport Kit was $29.
I had the first 2 generation iPods as well as a Shuffle and the Nano is by far my favorite. And for the record I got the lime green one!

Thanks Christina! I think I might get a Nano. I would love to be involved in the challenges.
Though I do have a question. I have a client who has a Nano and she uses it all the time. Is there anyway to give her some type of gift/incentive of the sort? She has done so well and I would like to continue motivating her with something she can use during her own hours.
Or is the only way to challenge yourself is getting involved on the website?
As you can tell, this is all new to me.. :?
Thanks
Sandy
Hi Sandy,
When you say is there a "gift/incentive" you can give your client, are you referring to something you can give her that she can use with her Nano? If you are looking for a reward type incentive, you could give her an iPod accessory such as a Nano cover/sleeve, arm band, or an iTunes gift certificate.
On the other hand, if you are wanting to know how to set up a challenge I will explain. First of all, anyone can set up a challenge. In fact, if you go to NikePlus.com and visit their forum you will see that you can participate in all kinds of challenges with complete strangers. When designing your own challenge you get to choose from different types such as "Whoever gets to 100 miles first wins" or "Whoever runs a 5k the fastest wins." After you have created your challenge you send out invitations (via the NikePlus.com site) to all of your friends, clients, etc. All you need to know is someone's NikePlus screen name or their email address. Note: They must be a registered member at NikePlus.com. Also, anyone who wants to participate in the challenge must have a Nano AS WELL AS the NikePlus Sport Kit because that is how their time, distance, etc. is tracked. All of your cardio workouts are tracked via a tiny transmitter that you hook onto the end of your Nano and a little sensor that you place in your shoe. (The transmitter and sensor make up the NikePlus Sport Kit.) When you get home from your workout you plug your Nano into your computer and all of your workout stats are transferred to the NikePlus.com website. That is how challenges are possible because all of the participants' stats are tracked by NikePlus.com. Does that make sense? So if you want to set up a challenge for your client to participate in and then reward her with a little gift if she meets the challenge then that is how you do it.
Your client is more than welcome to compete with us in the challenge I posted on the forum. By the way, that goes for anyone reading this! If you have a client who would like to participate in the challenge then sign them up! It's purely for fun and it will give us all a little kick in the pants!
Let me know if you have any other questions Sandy!
