Default Are we beginning to accommodate people who are obese?

I am currently traveling and staying in a hotel and I observed that the shower curtain rods in this particular hotel are curved so it gives larger people more room in the shower. I sometimes worry that this is the direction our society is headed. I am fearful that instead of losing weight we will just find a ways to accommodate large bodies. Has anyone else made similar observations?

I decided to do some quick research on this topic...

Did you know that Honda Accords sold in the US are 2 inches wider than in Europe and Japan?

Did you know there is such a thing as bariatric furtniture?

Did you know that you can purchase airline seat belt extenders?

Although it has nothing to do with accommodating obese individuals...
Did you know Americans burn 1 billion more gallons of gasoline now than in 1960 due to being overweight?

those are some very interesting statistics christina!
if you have enough of them you can compile them into an article and submit it to magazines. Im sure that would get a lot of attention!
