On a side note, experts predict that the youth of America will have shorter life expectancies than their parents due to the obesity epidemic. Very, very sad.

Less PE in schools
More High Fructose Corn Syrup in childrens foods
Two working parents who don't know much about proper nutrition to begin with.
Too many fad diets that don't work but people keep trying them just to regain the weight or even more.

No time to exercise but plenty of time to play video games, watch TV, etc.

Dave, you're right on.

Several months ago my husband and I were taking our dogs on a walk and we heard little kids around the corner laughing and playing. I thought, "How sweet! That's rare these days." As we got closer we saw that 1 of the kids was riding a scooter and the other 3 were riding around in motorized cars. How sad.
