FitTV/Bravo "Personal Trainer" shows
Does anyone else get embarrased by the bad advice they hear coming out of these "personal trainers" mouths on each episode?
I know they are being filmed and supposedily it's not scripted but for pete sakes, at least ACT like you know what you are talking about.

I know exactly what you mean. I see some of the trainers on those shows and I am truly embarrassed for them and our profession. Before I knew anything about this field I thought personal trainers were nothing but a bunch of muscle heads who had brains the size of a pea. (How wrong I was! )

Bad PT Advice on TV
Yes I’ve seen them. I guess you are taking about the TV show that’s on Bravo. As we know, the show is mostly about the main person and her relationships and life. It’s a good idea for all trainers to watch these shows because their clients are watching them. With respect to "Work Out", I think the main person is very professional and knowledgeable but some of her trainers seem a little immature and unprofessional (especially the young trainers). Maybe it’s TV taking things out of context or Maybe they are being like that because its a TV "reality show"?
Regardless, when I conduct personal training certifications, I usually mention the show because it lets new personal trainers see what NOT to do when interacting with clients.
