    Default Cancellation Policy

I am having a hard time figuring out a cancellation policy for small group (4) training. I run a 6 week program, and If someone needs to cancel, I am not sure how to allow them to make it up. Any ideas?
Its alot of money if they lose out, and life happens. But If it was just one on one I could reschedule them, but there are 3 other people.

This is really tricky and unfortunately I do not have an answer. You could always tell them that if they need to cancel you will refund 50% of their money for that session. (That way you both meet in the middle.) The one thing I will say is make sure everyone pays up front. When I first started training I let people pay me weekly. BIG MISTAKE. When people pay up front they are much less inclined to cancel.

Make them sign a policy and procedures that includes you cancellation and no refunds policy - now you have it in writing. I almost never give refunds (sure there may be some situations where you do - but not often). Also, don't reschedule the sessions - also have that on your policies and procedures. If you do that you will always be trying to fit people in - make them fit your schedule and if they can't make it they know upfront that they forfeit the session. Again, this is a business and make sure you have everything in writing and they know all this upfront, so that you don't have any problems and they know what to expect from you and what you expect of them. I hope this helps.
