Default Hey guys need help and ideas

I'm just starting out and I want to know what the best strategies are for a personal trainer not based in a gym?

Also does anyone here work with special populations and disabilities?

    Are you already certified?

If you need help with marketing and strategy, I'd check out Eric Ruth, Phil Kaplan, John Izzo and Marjorie Geiser's materials.

John posts on this board frequently, and has his own blog http://lifeofapersonaltrainer.blogspot.com/

so I'd look him up and read up! (John, I expect my 10% commission!! LOL Just kidding)

Margie Posts frequently as well. Check her stuff out at

(I expect 50% from you margie! LOL )

I do work with Seniors and have a client with MS that I am training, but mostly my clients fall in the "General Population" category.

I created a free marketing report for independent trainers on my blog -
funny you mentioned special populations - creating that specialty is an important part of being a solo trainer -

If you've got any other specific questions based on it let me know - good luck!

Boy, I'm away for awhile and miss the great conversations, huh? Thanks for the plug, Dave, and we'll talk....

Seriously, though, "T", I'd suggest you check out my book, Just Jump. The feedback I'm getting has been incredible and could answer a lot of the questions I'm sure you have! If you click the link below, you can read more about it.

Yeah thank you Tom - haha - potent is EXACTLY what I was going for -
There's a lot of bullshit flying around in this industry - how else could average training rates be above $60 an hour, and average FULL-TIME trainer salaries under $30,000? Someone's getting SCREWED!
