    Default New Fitness Business

I will be opening a "Unique" fitness center here in about a month. It is unique because I will be offering 30 minute womens only circuits (curves like), as the primary selling point, but I will also have co-ed senior classes at set times during the day as well. Also, I will be doing personal training on the side. I am a Male (41), and I have one female employee to run the womens classes, and I will handle the rest. I am certified, and have a degree in Exercise Science, but I am looking for another certification for working with seniors.

We are kind of limited on space (1200 sq ft), but I think I can make it work with 10 piece circuit and 10 recovery stations, a full set of dumbells, workout benches, body bars, med balls, and a few select machines. I own this building and rent from upstairs apartments will cover ALL costs of building.

We will offer tanning, and some lines of nutritional supplements, and I am currently debating on a "smoothie machine".

I am looking for the following:
1.) Ideas for a comprehensive Health and Fitness Analysis for new members. (Forms/Software)

2.) Best ways for charting progress in several areas (fitness level, weight, etc.)

3.) Any other ideas that will help my business!!! My target market will be women and seniors.

4.) Profit centers? What else can I do to generate income? I am expecting 200+ members. No rent or mortgage, equipment is paid for, I have membership software already. Insurance, employee, and bookkeeping fees will be main expenses.

If you have any input let me know, I have been reading posts here for a while and I have a great deal of respect for all of you.

    Hi trojan87 and welcome.

I do in home training so I do not have experience with owning/operating a small gym but have you been on this site? http://fitnessbusinesspro.com/

Check out BSDI for forms and software. They'll send you a free demo.
