    Default i saw this product...

    ...personal trainer riches.

sounds good - just thought did anyone have it and what did u think of it?

    here is the link http://www.personaltrainingriches.co...g-wealth.shtml
just so u know what i mean.

he emphasises the sales and marketing part of the business
then again doesnt the results part matter most - i mean if you are getting people results then you are sure to get plenty of leads from it

so i have to ask how do i ensure great results?

sure i did the course - know the basics - putting it all into practice seems tough for me tho

    Hi ptrainer,

It is Jim O'Connor here, the fellow trainer who created Personal Training Riches.

Yes, the downloadable 3 hour audio seminar is really about what my fellow fitness professionals are missing the boat on - business planning, personal training sales, and marketing.

We are taught to focus on anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and nutrition, but what about how to build a successful personal training business? I've done it, and decided to give back by revealing exactly how I did it.

If you are a fitness professional making well over $100,000 per year, Personal Training Riches is not for you. However, if you are not making $100,000 a year you are not doing the necessary business planning, sales, and marketing tactics. Then Personal Training Riches is for you!

We, as professional trainers, should most definitely be paid as professionals. Don't we have the power to change peoples lives just the same as others in the health care arena?

Getting clients results is just one aspect of running a successful personal training business. However, it is just a piece of the sales and marketing puzzle. I address this in Personal Training Riches.

You can't ensure results with every client. Remember, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. The client needs to WANT to succeed internally. You have to have a system of dealing with different types of clients from day 1; thus, empowering them to succeed. Not all clients can be treated the same. You need to dig deep and discover their hot buttons, and what really motivates them. This is all part of the discovery phase, and initial interview with a prospective clients.

Putting everything into practice is just a matter of having a business/marketing plan and following that plan with daily actions towards your goal. Remember, it is building a business. Business building takes consistent, day after day, work, However, once it is built you reap the rewards. It is a process!

The best way to find out more about Personal Training Riches is to visit our homepage, and watch the video at http://www.personaltrainingriches.com .

I mean I was looking through my paperwork and I have so many par-q's from the contacts I made - I feel real bad right now - like wow I must be so bad at a few things

it doesn't feel good knowing you need alot of improvement

Hey PT, none of us started out "Making a Mint" right off the bat when we became personal trainers. So don't be so hard on yourself.

I haven't seen Jim O'connors materials so i cannot comment on them, they sound very similar to Eric Ruth's and Phil Kaplans.

I have seen, bought and read most of Eric Ruth's and Phil Kaplans stuff as far as marketing your business and low-cost ways of getting clients. They work and their systems are not difficult to follow.

I'd google Jim O'connors, Eric Ruth, and Phil Kaplan and decide which materials will help you the most.

Most of these guys have a "free report" or newsletter that can give you hints on what you should do, but to get the meat and gravy you really need to buy their systems. Which you may not be in the position to do at this point.

You can be a great trainer and a great business person, you don't have to be one or the other. But it does take work and dedication. (Like most things in life)

and a 1% conversion rate is better than a 0% conversion rate.

    Good Luck,

    Hi guys (hi Dave!),

Because I coach other nutrition and fitness professionals on starting up their own business, I thought I'd jump in here with a couple of comments.

Jim, I first want to say great sales letter! I haven't seen one of those in a couple of years, but I was grinning all the way, thinking back to the great book, "Multiple Streams of Internet Income, " by Robert Allen. For any of you who have not read this book, it definitely is a must-have!

I generally take a different approach to helping my clients get their business up and running. My question for you after going through these programs are these: Do you have your life and business vision in place? In other words, what do you want to stand for in 30-40 years from now. And what are your goals in creating a company? When you are ready to slow down or go onto something else in your life, what are your harvesting plans for your company? What are the fears and limiting conversations that pop up when you least want to face them or talk about them? Until you really address these questions and issues, you can continue to attend and buy all the programs in the world and still be in the 'planning for growth' stage... the rest of your life..

I next have clients work through exercises to help them determine who their ideal clients are, what their own unique essence is (what attracts your ideal clients to you) and learn how to tell the world what you do in a way that stimulates questions to learn more.

From there, I walk clients through either a simple, or more comprehensive business plan (depends on your goal and if you need financial backing), a separate, VERY detailed marketing plan (and you DO learn a lot about marketing YOUR business), and finally put it all on a marketing calendar that helps keep all of it organized in one location (to help you sleep at night).

If I do say so, myself, it's a very successful, and extremely comprehensive, program that definitely takes you from basically clueless about business to know what it means to have 'Raving Fans' (read that book, too, written by Ken Blanchard), and feel confident, successful, and thrilled with what you have put into place.

I have found that everyone out there who is helping other fitness professionals get their business up and running are basically doing it from the approach, 'here is how I did it, so this is what I suggest you do'. I take a different approach. Sure, I HAVE done it, I have been in private practice since 1996, providing in-home personal training and nutrition counseling services, and it has been very successful.
However, I am also an MBA, Entrepreneurship student and am able to apply all my great business education to help my clients determine what works for THEM, as opposed to what worked for me, 'so you should do it, too', approach. Think about it, if a particular workout worked great for you, is that how you approach all of your clients, too? Unlikely.

Finally, in 2008, my coaching process will all be down on paper in my new book, which will be a guide for health professionals who know their specialty but shudder at the thought of business and marketing.

Jim, i'd hope you think your product is great, after all it is the distillation of your experiences and made with care and concern.

i was wondering if anyone else had used it and what their results were

Jim is a great guy. I can't speak to his coaching program, but I did want to remind everyone that he was one of my professionals for my Professional of the Month series awhile back. To listen to Jim's interview, click this link and scroll down until you find his name. I interviewed him on July, 2008:

Also, results are only as good as the effort you put into them. So, what this means is that, especially with a coach, you need to first determine if that coach will help you achieve YOUR goals. Sure, everyone's goals are to make tons of money, but not everyone's goals are to work from sun-up to sun-down, 7 days a week and grow into a multi-location organization. And not everyone wants to offer boot camps, or... whatever.

There are many opportunities for trainers to get support to grow their businesses. Don't rule out mastermind groups, for instance, some of which are available online and some are even free!

For anyone who feels they are just missing a few links in getting their business up and running, do your homework. Look around at who or what is out there. I will go ahead and put in a plug that my book has DEFINITELY hit a spot that nothing else has hit for trainers! Not only does it take the reader from where he/she is, but literally walks you through steps to help you grow that business into whatever it is you want to create.
And, when it comes to expense, the book is definitely affordable..
