Default How bad did I screw up?

Okay, on Christmas eve as my dinner guests were arriving a potential client called!

Rather than attend to my guests I took the call and he said that he and his wife were interested and wanted some more information. He then proceeded to tell me that Wednesdays at 6:30pm were a good time for them, but they probably wouldn't start until the first of the year. I said okay and e-mailed them my welcome packet.

Well last night as I was making my follow up calls to people who requested my welcome packet the wife of this potential client calls asking where I was.! This was SECONDS before I was about to dial their number and follow up with them. The wife sounded fine with the misunderstanding and I totally took the blame. I sent an apologetic e-mail and rescheduled for the following wednesday.

Knowing that first impressions are a big deal, do you think I blew it with them, or do you think they'll forgive me and hire me? Or am I over reacting?

    I'd appreciate your thoughts.

    Dave,

I'm sure they will understand since it was during the Holidays. I think that what you did with sending an email and rescheduling was the perfect thing to do. I know our clients and potential clients are important to us, but remember, they called on Christmas Eve, which to me could have waited a few days later. They will call and will soon be clients of yours, I have confidence.
If it was'nt for my scheduler on my phone, everything would be posted on my hand.

    Dave,

I find it very odd that they called on Christmas eve. That's a little rude if you ask me. (It's not the Christmas eve part, but the fact that they called in the evening on Christmas eve.) I know how hard you are trying to build your business so you may be more concerned about it than what is really necessary. We tend to blow things out of proportion when we really want something. At least I do.

It will be fine! Call her back in a few days and see if they are ready to get started!

    Hey Sandy and Christina,

Thanks for the encouraging words, I too thought it was odd they called on Christmas Eve, but none the less, I need clients so I took the call.

I'm going to meet with them next wednesday at 6;30pm. I'm sure they are going to want "Couple Pricing" as they want me to train them together so I got to thinking up pricing for training two people at the same time.

    Have a good one,

    Dave
