I was just curious. I remember you mentioning you were a junior so I figured you'd be getting into the "good stuff" at this point. My degree is in psychology and I just completed a fitness instruction certificate through UCLA. I want to eventually get my masters in exercise science. Are you planning on going to grad school?

Yes, I'm actually a double major right now physical education and psychology. So far alot of my classes have been geared towards my psychology, but If I can major in P.E. and minor in coaching i might change things around a bit. I do plan on going into grad school regardless of what I do with my second major or minor. Was your cert an online class at UCLA or were you on campus?

I took as many classes as I could online but I had to be on campus for several as well. I lived in south Orange County at the time and had to make the commute north to LA two days a week for evening classes. It sometimes took me 3 hours one way because of traffic! LOL! Oh well. The program (it's called a 'certificate' but it is really a program) prepared me for grad school whereas my degree in psychology alone would not have prepared me for a masters in exercise science. I took physiology, anatomy, 3 nutrition courses, resistance training fundamentals, exercise prescription, and exercise testing. At the end of the program we are required to either get an ACSM or NSCA certification.

I have looked at some grad schools that offer an emphasis in sport psychology so that will probably be the route I will go. This might be something that would interest you as well.
