Test anxiety/study burn out CPT
Has anyone experienced this? Ive been studying since end of last May. My test is in a few weeks. I feel like I cannot retain any info now esp. in applied biomechanics. I take my test in two weeks and I am so stressed out and Ive taken the practise tests in the review ceritification guide and have not done well I feel defeated. This has been my life for months I have put so much time and evergy into this. I wish I knew people who personally took this exam. The people at my gym have been helpful they have todl me I am taking the toughest certification out there but there is so much to know I feel I have mastered the anatomy section I move on to physiology and forget what I need to know for anatomy and vice versa. I reread and write over and over again. What am I doing wrong?

ps...
I am also studying for the ACE group fitness test at the same time but I feel like ACSM throws you to to the wolves at least with ACE they direct you in ways. Anyway. I did not know the review ceritification book was out of date with the text book after freaking out I could not find a lot of info in the text book I called ACSM. Anyway, for those of you who have taken the test are they all hard trick questions? For example: I took a practise test in the review guide focusing on nutrition. One of the questions was something about how much protein, fat, carbs were in something which I calculated. I know dietary fibier is a carb but I didnt know you had ro substract those calories and I got that question wrong so if the test has these type of questions I am screwed.

Hey emma. I am also studying for the test and at times get very discouraged. The first thing I like to keep in mind is that this is a multiple choice test, so answers don't have to be conjured up--only chosen. Obviously this gives you a considerable advantage. I remember from college that on tests like these, it is far more important to understand concepts than to spend a lot of time memorizing obscure facts. Do you understand nutrition? Do you know how the muscles move? Etc., Etc. Understnding the main subjects of the test will guarantee that you get the majority of the questions right. No, I haven't taken the test, but some generalizations can be made based on the type of test. Take a deep breath, then go take the test...and pass...and live happily ever after, haha!
