ACSM workshop study guide - Personal Trainer Community - Forum

Much of the discussion on these boards talks about how incomplete the course material is for the ACSM cpt exam. Those who have undergone the 3 day workshop and have received the study guide that comes with the workshop swear by its valuable material. I was wondering if anyone could offer up this study guide in the form of a pdf or even a scanned email could work. Thank you in advance.

Hey jtown,

The only thing that's really missing from the ACSM materials is a comprehensive spotting list. I've recommended the NSCA textbook for that. Apparently it's got more than even the workshop book. And I say it's better to have your bases covered.

The workshop book is pretty substantial, so I'm not sure anyone is going to scan the entire thing and send it to you.

IMO it's definitely worth the money to attend, if you are able, not only because the hands-on practice time helps but the workbook itself will make much more sense. It's basically laid out in outline form, which is used as a guide for the teacher to conduct the workshop.

Overall I wouldn't say that it's any better than any of the other materials that you should need for the exam -- it's complementary.
