    Default BABA's TIPS for ACSM-CPT

I took ACSM CPT test after 2 months of prepration and achieved 723 out of 800. I finished the test in less than 2 hr.
I hold masters degree in Mechanical Engineering so I dont have any background in fitness related field.

This forum is really really great, it helped me a lot in all my prepration.
It depends on you wanna attend workshop or not but its not necessary.

    How I did it-
    PREPRATION PHASE
1-I revised personal trainer resources and prescription book only twice but I revised certification review book atleast 4 times. In the end I achieved 99% score in all the test.
So revise review book very carefully, its very good for knowledge and confidence.

    2- I spent 4-5 hrs every day.
3- I used google for any problem I encountered. Google is Great.
4- Used Youtube to look for various exercise styles.

    In the EXAM
I thought I was going to fail because of so many hard question in the test apart from that I never seen any where. But dont get discouraged, just give your best shot in the exam. Reason, ACSM exam use percentile score like GRE and TOEFL, not the percentage so few questions have more weightage in comparison to other. This will really help you.

    Questions were really very tough.

[Note: The following section was edited. In order to be fair please do not give out specific exam questions or number of questions of a specific topic on the exam. - Christina]

    There were questions about:
    HUMAN BEHAVIOR
    ROTATOR CUFF
    VITAMINS
    CAD RISK FACTORS
    METABOLIC CALCULATIONS
    RPE
    SPOTTING TECHNIQUE

    BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE

Ansul, congratulations! That's a high score! Thanks so much for coming back here and giving a review.

PS - I had to edit out a few things in your post because they were a bit too specific. We need to be careful not to give out actual exam questions or the number of questions on each topic.

If you have a question about personal training please post it on the forum instead of sending me an email or private message. Chances are your questions will help someone else. Thanks!
