Default Using older edition reference material

I have been studying for the ACSM CPT. The ASCM website recomends the following reference materials:
ACSM’s Resources for the Personal Trainer, 3rd edition
ACSM’s Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription, 8th edition
    ACSM’s Certification Review, 3rd. edition
I have the previous editions for each one of these that I am using as study materials (2nd, 7th, and 2nd). I read through the 2nd Edition of the ASCM's Resources for the Personal Trainer a couple of times already and the 7th Edition of the Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription once. Am I making a mistake in using these older editions.

When I bought these I was thinking of how college text books would change editions with very little change in content (in some cases just the sequence of problem exercises changed within a section).

Are the changes more significant in this case? Do I need to start over and purchase newer books? I am studying part time and it is taking me a while to prepare.

    Default Changes to ACSM Publications

I was reading someone elses recommendations for testing and got the answer I needed. The ACSM website has the changes in publications on their website:
