    Default ACSM question help

I took the ACSM HFS 3 times and haven't been able to pass. Also, I can't seem to find the answer to this question in the book.

    1) What is the deciding factor for male/female when deciding a gym?

    2) Also, there is one video where this pregnant lady is siting on floor and she has to stretch her hamstring. Her personal trainer tells her keep left leg straight and bend right leg after that bend over at stomach and try to touch toe on left leg. Did this stretch her hamstring?

Answer choices for 2 are :

    A) Yes, but could have used different form

    B) No

    3) When performing submaximal test on treadmill and the client heart rate go up at least 10 beats every 2 min with grade increase. Is this normal? Also, if their systolic is normal but diastolic is 86 should the test be stopped?

    Location, location, location!

    2) Also, there is one video where this pregnant lady is siting on floor and she has to stretch her hamstring. Her personal trainer tells her keep left leg straight and bend right leg after that bend over at stomach and try to touch toe on left leg. Did this stretch her hamstring?

Yes, it did but not whole a lot. the point of this stretch is to stretch hamstrings on the left side and piriformis on the right side.

    * It is normal. Heart rate should proportionally go up during Sub ex testing.
    * Test should not be stopped. there should be a decrease in DBP, and increase in SBP during progressive exercise testing.

But ACSM book says if DBP increases to 90 as intensity goes up the test should be stopped.

    True, but:

    1) DBP is at 86, not at 90
    2) It doesn't specify whether DBP increased or decreased to 86.
