Hi emdubroc,
I took the ACSM exam 2 years ago so I do not remember a lot about it but what are the first 5 chapters? Refresh my memory.

Brian or anyone else reading this who's taken the exam,
How important would you say chapters 1-5 of the textbook (Resources for the Personal Trainer) are when studying for the PT exam? They are very intuitive for the most part, but I'm just wondering if I really need to memorize the different learning models, some of which have 9 bullet points. These were not mentioned in the previous posts about what to focus on, but I wanted to be sure.
Any insight is appreciated, of course.
Thanks!

If you have a question about personal training please post it on the forum instead of sending me an email or private message. Chances are your questions will help someone else. Thanks!
they are about the educational approach to training, educational models (a few researches and their approaches to teaching are mentioned), and a lot of lists for how to teach such as (1) group topics into units, (2) create specific learning objectives for each unit, (3) take into consideration the student's abilities/preferences, etc. i just don't want to waste time memorizing all of these things if you just need to know the basic idea that personal trainers should be educators as well as trainers.
thanks!
