Default Is it me or is it the ACSM book??

Alright.... obviously I am still studying...er.. trying to... I am learning to calculate the target VO2. The ACSM Resource Manual (thick main textbook) gives this equation to find the target VO2 on page 341:

    - Target VO2= (exercise intensity) (VO2MAX-VO2rest) + VO2rest

THEN that little ACSM Guidelines book gives this equation on page 294 as part of a case study....

    - Target VO2= (exercise intensity) x (VO2R) + VO2rest

So which is it???? Did I miss something? Overlook anything? Someone please help and clarify :?:

    No worries! VO2Max-VO2rest = VO2reserve

The oxygen uptake reserve (VO2 reserve) is the difference between max O2 consumption and Resting O2 consumption

    Hope this helps!!

Cool  I plan on taking the PT exam at the end of November. I think I will be better prepared and confident taking it in November ... the more studying the better. I really want to pass the exam the first time around so I will definitely take advantage of any practice exams I have to buy online. I've read on this board that the practice ACSM is good.... I've also stumbled across this:

It's $24.95 for an online course and practice exam questions. Looks good to me!

I'll purchase these practice exams and courses when I finish my ACSM textbooks. So yeah November'ish for me. When are you taking your exam?

Default No need to purchase the course..

    Hi,
This is a link to Brian's tips for the ACSM-CPT.. I passed the exam 3 weeks back.. You'll be good if you cover the KSA's listed for the ACSM-CPT as I found out.. Make sure you know 'spotting techniques' for all exercises. Follow the link for excellent tips on taking the exam..
    Cheers,
    Abi
