Pretty much you just need to know the general guidelines for people who are in the different risk categories. I don't recall anything specific for cardiac patients, etc. Perhaps that would be something needed for HFI...
Thanks. I had another questions as well. How in depth do we need to know about training and prescribing exercises for people with cardiac history. There's a lot of material on this subject, which is very specific and I was just wondering if we need to know the specifics or have a general understanding of it or what?????

Thanks a lot Brian for your invaluable post about the exam content! I just need to reaffirm one thing: You said that we don't need to study chapters 11 and 12 in the certification review book which are: Metabolic Calculations and ECG. I know it doesn't make sense for a CPT to know all the ECG stuff but just wanted to make sure if you are positive about this cause I am having a real hard time with chap 12. Can I skip it totally? Also what about chap 11? That is relevant stuff?
My second question is that I am looking for a comprehensive book which describes exercises in details and is accompanied with good illustrations. Can you or anyone please suggest one?
Thanks!
