    Default Workshops...

    Hello,
I have recently completed my undergraduate in Exercise Physiology and am looking to get ACSM Personal Trainer certified. However, I am currently on a pretty tight budget. For those who have taken the exam, is it necessary to take a 1 or 3 day workshop or should studying the correct materials thoroughly be enough? I appreciate any responses!

Hi and welcome. I passed the ACSM-CPT without the workshop and did quite well on the exam. (I had many exercise science classes under my belt so I am sure that helped.) In my opinion, the workshop is not necessary for someone fresh out of school.

Good luck and don't forget about the forum after you are certified! When do you test?

Thanks for the great reply! I have not yet signed up to take the exam but have just begun studying. I have also had many exercise physiology classes and such recently, which is why I was wondering. Is it difficult to sign up for the exam, as in should I plan on signing up way ahead of time? Thanks again!
